Nice speciman of botryoidal goethite , showing the characteristic fibrous formation on the broken sides of the speciman. This speciman does not have the dull coating over the top like others from here had and has quite a clean surface for goethite. Collected in the 1990's before the pit was mined out and closed. It is now backfilled with waste from other mining operations. Not seen on the market very often at all these days.
