Chrysocolla, Malachite, Malbunka Mine, Areyonga, Alice Springs, NT
Size 7cm x 2.5cm
Although well known for its azurite specimans, this mine has very few other minerals associated with the azurite. Malachite would be the next most abundant mineral after azurite, but not in the same quantities. I done a stint mining here in 2019 with the mine owner, and the only other minerals I found was malachite and chrysocolla, and I had a good look around as well. Chrysocolla was not common at all and I only found a few specimans. Unusual mineral from here, for those that want a suite of minerals from here. The only other mineral I know of is tiny barite crystals that rarely occur on some azurite suns.
