"Wad" is a term for unidentified manganese minerals that are very hard to pinpoint exactly what mineral species they are. These little cauliflower like formations were found during mining of a manganese rich zone in the Little Baron Opencut near Whyalla in South Australia. Most were small pieces like these shown here. There is actually 14 pieces in this lot , I didn't realise the photo does not show all of them.
