Cerussite, Block 14 Opencut, Broken Hill, NSW
Size 8cm x 7cm
A well crystallized cerussite speciman from the long closed Block 14 opencut. This speciman, apart from being a decent size has bladed crystals up to 16 mm across, covering the display surface. At the top left of the speciman it has a twinned arrowhead crystal 20 mm high and 15 mm wide, although not really visible in the photos. Specimens of this size and amount of crystals very rarely come onto the speciman market. This opencut had an impressive 92 different mineral species recorded from the one mine, 9 of them were new minerals to science. Very good speciman from a closed locality.
