Turquoise, Iron Monarch Quarry, Iron Knob, SA
SKU: 575
Size 7cm x 5cm
Bright blue massive turquoise contrasts nicely with the darker brown iron enriched waste rock. Turquoise was quite common at iron monarch, and surprisingly most of it was as small crystals. Turquoise crystals are rare, worldwide and to have so much here was exceptional. Massive or cutting quality material was rare and found in two small isolated areas. This speciman being from one of those areas. This piece was probably from the RL140 bench on the north wall of the pit.
