Hyalite, Fluorite, Zincocalcite, Coronadinite, MMM Mine, Broken Hill, NSW
SKU: 477
Size 6cm x 5cm
A really unusual speciman of stalactitic coronadinite, overgrown with white zincocalcite, a sparse scattering of small square clear crystals (probably Fluorite) most of which are covered with clear hyalite. It was very hard to get a decent photo, probably because it is a very 3 dimensional piece.
Fluorite is a rare mineral at broken hill. Needs magnification to see the fluorites. Although it is not very attractive, I have only seen a small handfull of this association from an old collection we bought. I have never seen any elsewhere. Unusual combination from a closed mine.
