Size 10cm x 6cm

Large heavy block of rich hematite ore riddled with cavities of shiny black bladed specular hematite crystals. Very sparkly and showy. Once upon a time there was a lot of this in certain areas of the pit, but because it was "just ore" and there was a lot of it, not much was picked up. In later years after it was mined out we thought it was pretty and hunted for the odd boulder that was left behind !!

Showy speciman of specular hematite, one of the largest I have left. Photos didn't pick up the sparkle of the crystals very well, way better in person.
