Not very many of these species were found and most were smaller than this one. Not sure of the species though. The fossil cockle shell is double sided but the back shell is almost completely encased in matrix. This could be worked to expose both sides of the shell but I feel it is better as a matrix speciman. The matrix on the back also contains quite a few smaller fossil shells as well.
A nice fossil speciman, and showy for a fossil.
