Size 7.5 cm x 5cm
This shell has been cut in half to show the unique heart shape when two shells are joined together.
Interestingly it also shows borer holes in the shell, which may have been the demise of this cockle. 
The centre is filled with calcrete and tiny fossil shells and the two gaps at each end of the shell show where this entered after the shell died and settled on the seafloor.
