Size 9cm x 10cm
A large single shell, of the species Spondylus Spondyloides. These are related to modern day spiny oysters. Although it is only a single shell, there is no significant damage and it displays well. The last photo shows the back side or the inside of the shell, and the faint dark lines are not cracks but rather, very fine tree roots. Good display speciman of this species.
