Fossil Shell, Roe Plains, Eucla Basin, WA
SKU: 395
Size 8cm x 7cm
A very presentable fossil cockle shell of the species Miltha Hamptonensis, from this unique fossil locality. These fossils are from the Miocene age , I am told , which makes them around 23 million years old. This speciman is one of the larger ones for this species of cockle shell, and has no damage to the front display surface, although the back shell is broken as shown in the photos. Collected over 10 years ago, and locality is apparently well picked over now. Nice display speciman.
