This piece did not photograph very well, the large flat area at the top of the speciman is actually a large barite crystal but the crystal edges and faces do not stand out. There are quite a few smaller barite crystals in the foreground as seen in the photos. These crystals were collected back in the 60's and 70's , and it was quite a popular collecting site. Now most of the barite localities in this area are within a national park and closed to collecting.
