Nice sized speciman of atacamite crystals on small stalactites of black goethite. What makes this speciman stand out is the size of the atacamite crystals. The largest crystal on the bottom is just on 25 mm long, which is exceptional size for atacamite from here. The big crystal is a multiple growth and has multiple terminations on the top of the crystal. There is a little manganese or iron coating on the atacamite crystals, rendering them not quite as lustrous as they could be. I have found very few larger crystals like this over the years.
