Size 7cm x 3.5cm

A very good sized aragonite crystal cluster sitting on top of a brownish botryoidal coating of carbonate fluorapatite. These were found on the RL160 bench on the north side of the pit, I was lucky enough to be with Glyn Francis when these were collected. Because of the nature of the matrix, very few large specimens, or specimans with large crystals were recovered. This speciman was collected by Glyn himself and was in his collection that we purchased in later years, and comes with the original label from his mineral case.

Please Note. Upon closer inspection the aragonite crystal shows a crack across it, but Glyn has stabilised the back of the speciman so no further damage will occur. The damage is not overly noticable and will display quite well. Despite this stabilised matrix, the size of the aragonite crystal cluster makes this a very good example from here. One of the very few I have left.
