A matrix free plate of coarse aragonite crystals, collected in the mid 1990's. Originally part of a cavity lining, but has come apart from its matrix leaving only a few iron stained pebbles and dirt cemented to the back side. Under magnification, there are tiny calcite crystals scattered on the aragonite crystals as well. Quite a large piece for pure aragonite crystals.
